Kovalevskaya Grants

For updates to the information in the call for applications, see the FAQ at the bottom of this page.

Overview

The Kovalevskaya Grants support the participation of early career mathematicians at the International Congress of Mathematicians 2022 (July 6-14, 2022, Saint Petersburg). They cover the local expenses at the congress (including accommodation and meals). The grant recipients‘ registration fee for ICM 2022 will be waived and visa-free entry to Russian Federation will be arranged.

The Czech Committee for Mathematics is the local partner of the organisers of ICM 2022, responsible for the selection of recipients of the Kovalevskaya Grants from the Czech Republic.

The grant does not cover travel costs. In the case of Czech participants, it is expected that these will be covered by the home institution of the recipient.

FAQ

Q: Can I cancel my registration for the congress in case I do not receive the Kovalevskaya Grant?

A: The results will be announced by December 1, 2021. This is expected to be well before the early registration deadline, so it should be safe to postpone the payment of the participant fee till the announcement and, if necessary, cancel the registration without making the payment.
